TGIF Pensacola! Happy Friday from The Graffiti Bridge! Today we bring you our “Featured Friday,” graffiti tag. This one tag jumped out at me above all the others. It was small and simple, yet it sent an extremely powerful message.
“We all bleed the same color,” really shook me to the core. I had never heard the case for embracing diversity and celebrating our differences expressed so simply and yet so elegantly as they were in that one simple sentence.
In lieu of all the hate speech, the anger and frustration swirling around this issue, on both sides, this one sentence stands out as a beacon of hope for the future.
We of The Graffiti Bridge family welcome all tags speaking out against prejudice and racism. We fully support any and all messages tagged to the bridge and encourage everyone to use The Graffiti Bridge as a canvas to express your individual creativity.
On that note, what if we were to simplify this message even further. What if instead of fanning the flames of hate, and giving the hate mongers national attention, handle them the same way we would a schoolyard bully.
Ignore bigots! Starve them. Take away their voice, and eventually they will sink back into the cracks where they belong.
